How to apply?
Once you’ve decided to become a Dominican citizen, the process is quick and easy to complete with the help of your authorized representative. The Citizenship by Investment Unit (CBIU), the government department in charge of the program’s implementation, has authorized a number of agents to assist you.
STEP 1
Make a decision on how you want to participate. Citizenship can be obtained by making a non-refundable donation to the government’s Economic Diversification Fund (EDF).
STEP 2
To assist you with the filing of your application, contact a skilled and trusted advisor.
STEP 3
Obtain the paperwork and documentation that your agent considers to be necessary for your application. It is not necessary to fly to Dominica for an interview.
STEP 4
Your application will be submitted to the CBIU whenever your agent is satisfied that it meets all of the requirements.
STEP 5
Your application will be processed by the CBIU. During this period, a third-party due diligence firm will conduct thorough background checks on the data you’ve submitted. The processing duration ranges from 90 to 120 days.
STEP 6
If the CBIU is satisfied that your application meets all of the conditions it will be forwarded to the Prime Minister and Cabinet of Dominica for evaluation and final approval.
STEP 7
You will receive a letter advising you that your application has been approved in principle if you are successful.
STEP 8
Your agent will apply for your passport when you get a Certificate of Naturalization (CON) stating that you have become a citizen of the Commonwealth of Dominica.
STEP 9
At this time, you must pay the appropriate contribution to the escrow account of the Economic Diversification Fund.
STEP 10
You will be eligible to travel as a Dominican citizen after you receive your passport.
